St Pius X College was delighted to recently welcome First Minister Michelle O’Neill who visited our college, to meet with her SistersIN mentee Clodagh Conroy for their first mentorship session.

Clodagh is one of just two female students in Northern Ireland who have received an extraordinary opportunity through the SistersIN mentoring programme, as they have been assigned the First Minister and Deputy First Minister as their personal mentors for the academic school year.

When Clodagh found out her mentor pairing, she was simply ecstatic, saying; “I think I’ll learn a lot from  Ms O’Neill about female empowerment and how girls today can be leaders. I remember when the First Minister came to our school last year and spoke so highly of SistersIN, it really inspired me to sign up and now I’m so very privileged that’s who my mentor will be.”

The First Minister thoroughly enjoyed her visit to our college and said the one-to-one meeting provided a great opportunity to discuss the support and guidance she can provide to Clodagh over the course of the programme.

During the visit, the First Minister also met with other pupils and their mentors who are taking part in the leadership programme during a coffee morning organised by the school.

The @SistersIN_HQ initiative offers young women unique training and networking opportunities with inspiring female role models to build confidence and develop personal skills.
