Year 8-10 KS3 Accreditation/In-house ICT Programme In Year 8, students use the software packages MS Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.  Students complete innovative ICT activities based on various scenarios involving their local zoo.  In Year 9 students will explore the concept of 'Life in the Highstreet' through real life database, spreadsheet and e-commerce scenarios.   In Year 10, students will research Managing College Information (MIS). All Year 10 students are entered for CCEA ICT Certificate of Competence, where they are awarded a level of ICT competence in the areas of: Exchange, Exhibit, Express, Evaluate, Explore. Year 10 Digital Technology Digital Technology is the use of ICT hardware and software in a creative manner to produce multimedia work.  Students will learn how to design an interactive game using the gaming software 'Gamemaker'. Internal assessment. Student work is regularly marked and formative feedback given to students. Mr Duffy
Year 11-12 CCEA GCSE ICT (Full Course) This two year course has a large focus on the practical ICT skills in the form of controlled assessment. Students are provided with learning opportunities to inform them about hardware, software, legislation and ICT in the workplace. Units of work:  Unit 3: Theory (40%). Controlled assessment: Unit 1: Tools and Applications, Unit 2: Multimedia and Games Techology (60%). Full Course:Controlled Assessment 60%(Units 1-2)

Year 11-12   Edexcel Level 2 Extended Certificate in IT (Double Award) Students will be given opportunities to explore practical ICT scenarios. Year 11: Unit 1 Communicating in the IT Industry, Unit 26 Games Technology.  Year 12: Unit 2 Working in the IT industry, Unit 27 Spreadsheet Design. Four units of coursework. Mrs McStockerMr Duffy
Year 13-14 CCEA GCE Applied ICT The Applied GCE in Information and Communication Technology enables you to develop analytical thinking and practical skills through investigating commercial and industrial information technology systems.  It also promotes the skills required to use a range of software applications and covers areas such as systems analysis and the development of software and databases.  It also offers students the opportunity to develop their skills in team and project working. The course provides a sound basis for higher level studies in computing and information technology as well as other degree courses. Four internally assessed portfolios:Unit 1: Information and Communication Unit 3: Organisations and Information Systems Unit 9: Website Design and ManagementUnit 10: Multimedia Technology
