In June 2008, St Pius X College invited Derrychrin Primary School to attend a two day Art and Design day in the Art Department. 

The Primary 2 and 3 pupils, with their teacher Mrs McConway and their classroom assistants, experienced clay, paint and model making.  They had the opportunity to make a tile, an animal and a painting each.  Each pupil’s tile then formed a plaque that St Pius X College presented to Derrychrin, for the entrance to their school.  A highly enjoyable day was had on both days.  With such a success had by all it is hoped that Derrychrin will visit again.
